Homework: Jameson Ideas

The production of the music promotion campaign I created was produced in a stylistic innovation form where it was formulated around the idea of Jameson’s theory of a Post modern feature of hyper reality. The way in which we did this was with the use of distortion and manipulation through a range of effects on our artist’s appearance in certain shots which was also in relation to the style of the sound (the fast paced beats). To the extent of our ideas being original we gained a lot inspiration through existing sources of media such as films, other music videos and pictures which is known as bricolage. As I found it hard to distinguish the specific genre for the music video I created as it was a blur of sub genres therefore mixing different stylistic features from other music videos helped to make mine hyperreal.
