Abercrombie suggests that 'the boundaries between genres are shifting and are becoming more permeable' - by this they mean that there is no fixed genre today. For example in the music video I created it was very hard to distinguish the genre of choice of song because the track we had was difficult to put into a specific genre, however you could catergorise it into many sub genres. In relation to this, the style of music video had to show significance the styles of sub genres used. I classed the track I used as House/Dance/Dubstep however, in the video their was very little dance but more performance of the artist singing.
